Revenue contracts
Legal transactions concerning revenues (in particular relevant for third-party funds) a meaningful documentation (e.g. e-mail, confirmation/donation letter) is required, providing information on
- amount
- payment date
- intended use and
- funder (if amount > CHF 1’000).
Contract review
Revenue contracts must be reviewed, if one of the following criteria is met:
- Intellectual property rights
- Special conditions or regulations (regarding liabilities or public sponsoring)
- Total amount > CHF 150'000
Written form
A written contract is required, if
- total amount > CHF 150’000 or
- one of the contract review criteria (see above) is met.
Depending on the specific legal transaction different review teams/units must be involved:
- Unitectra: Intellectual property as well as “Material Transfer Agreements”
- Research & Grants Office: EU research programmes (except ESA) as well as US research programmes (e.g. NIH)
- Third-party fund management team: all other legal transactions.
