What are my financial responsibilities?
Your financial responsibility is defined by your role and the associated tasks within the organizational hierarchy. You are given the competencies needed for decision-making.
You are free to delegate administrative tasks to your support staff. The financial responsibility however is inextricably linked to the function holder (officeholder) and may never be delegated.

Financial responsibility refers to the budget targets (financial and staffing), but also includes organizational tasks (e.g. contracts and orders, invoicing, invoice processing). These tasks are usually performed by support staff, i.e. financially administrative people (system roles as “materiell” and “formell” Prüfende, “Hauptkoordinierende”, “Rechnungsdelegierte”).
With a budget of about 1.6 billions CHF and over 10’000 employees, it is inevitable to set common rules. All financially related rules are summarized in UZH’s Finance Handbook (FHB).
